Inverter fire inside Florida's Kayak Energy Storage Center battery field

On Oct. 2 a call reported as a brush fire turned out to be a burning inverter, with a 932-degree reading taken from about 300 feet away. After the utility cut power, the 24 surrounding battery containers still held a charge, and it was the site's first fire call.
