Home battery fires in Germany and Poland show storage risk before installation

In Obernzell a PV battery unit stored in an IBC container awaiting installation caught fire, cells kept igniting, and firefighters had to move it and flood it in a metal container; cellar battery fires were also reported in Bad Wörishofen and in Mchy, Poland, where the owner built the system himself. Behind-the-meter storage is now a homeowner and contractor property exposure, and storage and staging before commissioning needs the same attention as the installed system.
